NICET Special Hazards Systems Practice Test

Industrial machines are equipment designed to perform manufacturing or processing tasks on materials within a production environment. Packaging machines, assembly machines, and wood machinery directly handle, shape, or package products on the production line, so they fit this category. A desktop computer, on the other hand, is office or IT equipment used for planning, design, monitoring, or control, not to perform a manufacturing operation on materials. It may interface with or control industrial machinery, but it isn’t itself an industrial machine. Therefore, the desktop computer is not listed as an example of industrial machines.
